E-mail Mail Client Setup and Webmail

Here is the configuration information for the email server settings:

Incoming Mail Server:

  • Server Address: spinmail.spin.ee
  • IMAP Port: 993
  • POP3 Port: 995

Outgoing Mail Server:

  • Server Address: spinmail.spin.ee
  • SMTP Port: 587 (STARTTLS/TLS)

Username: Always your full email address. The outgoing server requires authentication using the same user account.

You can access the web-based email client at https://spinmail.spin.ee.

Configuring SPF Records in Self-service Platform

  1. Choose the DNS tab in the self-service.

  2. Select the domain for which you want to modify records.

  3. Choose the Records tab.

  4. Click on the SPF button.
Then generate a suitable SPF record for yourself.

    • "Allow servers listed as MX to send email for this domain" should be checked if this domain sends emails through the email server described in the domain's zone. (It should always be checked)

    • "Allow current IP address of the domain to send email for this domain" should be checked if emails are sent from the web server.

SPF has four levels (SPF Mechanism):

    1. PASS - Allows sending all emails.
    2. FAIL - Email servers do not accept emails from anywhere except the addresses allowed in the SPF record.
    3. SoftFAIL - Emails are accepted but are identified as potential spam.
    4. Neutral - Same as if there were no SPF record.

    • "Additional IP addresses in CIDR format that deliver or relay mail for this domain" should include all IP addresses from where this domain can send emails. Separate multiple IP addresses with spaces.

    • "Any other server hostname that may deliver or relay mail for this domain" should include all server names from where this domain can send emails. Separate multiple server names with spaces.

    • "Any domains that may deliver or relay mail for this domain" should include all other domains from where emails can be sent on behalf of this domain. Separate multiple domains with spaces.

    • TTL - How often the name servers update the record. The default value is 3600 seconds.

    • Active - Check this box if you want to use the SPF record.

    1. Press "Save" to apply the changes.

Configuring DKIM Records in Self-service

  1. Select the "Email" tab in self-service.
  2. From the left-hand menu, choose "Domain."
  3. Select the domain to which you want to add DKIM.
  4. Check the box for "Enable DKIM."
  5. Click on the "Generate DKIM Private-key" button.
  6. If the domain is added to the Spin TEK administration interface, then click "Save." This will automatically add the DKIM record to the DNS zone.
6.1 If the domain is hosted elsewhere, copy the DNS record and add it in your DNS service provider's administration interface.

Configuring DMARC records in self-service

  1. Select the DNS tab in self-service.
  2. Choose the domain for which you wish to modify records.
  3. Select the Records tab.
  4. Click on the DMARC button.

Quarantine – Place the email in quarantine or add a tag to the email.
    Reject – Reject the email.
  • Aggregate Data Reporting Address – Email address where reports of all emails are sent.
  • Forensic Data Reporting Address - Email address where reports of failed emails are sent.
  • Forensic reporting options – Set more specifically on what failed email reports are triggered.
    - Generate reports if all underlying authentication mechanisms fail to produce a DMARC "pass" result. - Generate reports if any mechanisms fail.
    - Generate a report if the DKIM signature fails to verify.
    - Generate a report if SPF fails.

  • Subdomain Policy (Defaults to same as domain) – Whether the same DMARC record applies to subdomains.
    - Same as domain
    - None
    - Quarantine
    - Reject

Configuring Accommodation Services

Configuring DNS, web hosting, and email services is possible for every client through self-service at https://admin.spin.ee.

The login account is sent to the contact person upon contract signing.

When configuring the services, you can also see the server addresses to which permissions are granted.

For example:

FTP ftps://veebiserver.spin.ee (the account is created in self-service)

Databases https://veebiserver.spin.ee/myadmin (accounts are created in self-service)

SSH ssh://veebiserver.spin.ee (Accounts are created in self-service. Access requires sharing the IP address to helpdesk@spin.ee)
